In de Champions Cup miste Micah Richards de beslissende penalty voor Manchester City. Daardoor verloor het team van Pellegrini tegen Olympiakos. De wijze waarop Richards miste zorgde al voor heel wat beroering op Twitter.
Het leek wel of Richards een doeltrap wou geven. Zijn dramatische poging ging ver over. De speler zelf excuseerde zich achteraf op Twitter, maar kon niet vermijden dat zijn misser het onderwerp van spot werd.
