In de Europese bekers waren er vanavond tal van verrassingen en dat was op de midweekspeeldag van de Premier League net hetzelfde. Of wat dacht je van de blamage van Chelsea?
Een hele helft liep alles naar wens voor The Blues en dan kwam de tweede periode van Bournemouth: 4-0! King (2x), Brooks en Daniels stuurden Chelsea met schaamrood op de wangen naar huis. Eden Hazard moest het mee ondergaan, aanvalsbroeder Higuain zal zich zijn debuut wel anders ingebeeld hebben.

Leider Liverpool kon enigszins verrassend ook niet winnen en profiteerde dus niet ten volste van de nederlaag bij eerste achtervolger Manchester City gisteren. Het werd 1-1 tegen Leicester City: Mané zorgde voor de vroege voorsprong, Maguire hing de bordjes op slag van rust weer gelijk.
De enige topclub die woensdag wél kon winnen was Tottenham, maar ook dat scheelde niet veel. The Spurs stonden lang een goal in het krijt, pas in de laatste tien minuten konden Son en uiteindelijk Llorente de 2-1 overwinning vastleggen tegen Watford.
